Nothing could really prepare us for this weather! We knew there was a chance for freezing temps and ice and snow, but who would of thought it would last for a week! We were fortunate in that we never lost power for more than 12 hours. We did not have water in the house, but Jim had wrapped an outside faucet with heat tape so we had one working faucet. Our biggest worry, were the animals. Everyone had lots of hay to block the wind and plenty of food. Their water would freeze quickly, so twice a day we went out with shovels to break up the water troughs.
We started a list of things we need to prepare for the next time this happens!
